Egg Brooch
Sterling silver and brass.
This brooch is entirely handmade, including the pin back. It measures approximately 1.75 inches across and about 1.25 inches high. The pin is about 1.25 inches long.
The egg series developed as I was returning to metalsmithing after many years, in a sense being the original design for Meal Ticket Jewelry. Made in a highly variable manner, the overall shapes made are unique and the process of making is quite joyful. All notions of perfection have been thrown out the window for this design; these eggs are about organic forms and process spontaneity.

Sterling silver will naturally tarnish over time, a silver polishing cloth can bring back the shine. Please note that this brooch isn't brought to a bling bling sparkle - - it is naturally patinated in places that help to bring out the texture.
